Questions About the Den

What can I find inside the Freelance Writers Den?

The Den is THE place online where seasoned pros answer your niggly freelancing questions and get you past those fears. You know, the ones that haunt your nightmares and keep you from earning well as a writer?

Instead of the blah blah, let me share a few quick stats about the Den:

  • 300+ hours of trainings and bootcamps on how to close sales, bust through the fears holding you back, write a white paper, case study, or email marketing sequence — you name it
  • 13,000+ questions on our forums answered by our founder Carol Tice and our professional moderator team
  • Moderator staff to guide you to the best resources for your sitch
  • Complimentary writer website, pitch, and LinkedIn profile reviews to sharpen your marketing
  • Semi-monthly podcasts on freelance writing niches, marketing, productivity, and more
  • Live Q&A with experts monthly (MORE question answering here!)

Are there any other member perks?

Absolutely. Members save hundreds of dollars on bootcamps — and we’ve got some great bootcamps coming up. Members also get exclusive invites and discounts for our coaching programs.

What does Den membership cost?

It’s currently just $40 per month.

Is there a contract or obligation to stay on in the Den?

No way! The Den is month to month, no obligation, leave anytime. Just cancel the recurring payment anytime during the month. You’ll have access until the time you’ve paid for expires. (And, hey, we know it’s easy to forget things like this, so we have a 48-hour grace period if you forget to cancel before that next payment goes out.)

Will you give me writing jobs?

We’re not hiring writers, running a job board or content mill, or working as a middleman between writers and clients. The Freelance Writers Den is a paid membership site designed to teach you how to find paying writing work. The bootcamps and podcasts give you the tools you need to find your own writing work.

I was in the Den before, and it was kind of clunky to navigate.

Oh, we know. That’s why I’ve invested in a massive Den redesign. We streamlined the login process, updated forums so they work on mobile devices, and generally made everything easier to find and use.

Can I pay via Paypal or with a credit card?

Either will work! E-check works, too.

I’m brand-new to freelance writing. Can the Den help me?

You bet! Our courses start from the very beginning of your career, with a fear-busting bootcamp, and one called Get Your First Freelance Writing Jobs. Skip the trial-and-error and start your career off right with the Den resources.

I’m an established, working/mid-career/longtime freelance writer. Can the Den help me?

Yes! Among our resources for working writers looking to earn more are bootcamps such as Close the Sale, Freelance Marketing Mastery, Business Blogging Mastery, and our Den 2X Income Accelerator mastermind. Let’s get you earning real money from your writing, hm?

Is the Den only for copywriters / only for journalists?

Actually, it’s for both! We have resources for going after business clients and writing well-paid types of business projects, as well as for pitching editors and writing articles.

I’m not in the United States. Can the Den help me?

We’ve got many members from all over the world, not just in the United States — who are learning how to earn a great living. We’ve got a special forum section just for our international writers to discuss the issues with time zones, pitching, paperwork, and the other things that come up for expats and foreign nationals.

What if I join up and decide the Den isn’t the right place for me?

The Den is totally no-risk to join. Step inside and look around. If it’s not what you need, just fill out the quit form on your profile or email our helpdesk to take advantage of our 7-day money-back guarantee. I’m totally confident once you get a taste of the support and learning the Den offers, you’ll want to stay. Also… we only want members who’re happy to be here!

Billing Questions

How do I update my credit card and/or billing information?

Did you pay with Paypal? If so, you’ll need to go into Paypal to make that change.

The first step is to add the card to your Paypal account, if it isn’t already. Then you need to update the recurring payment profile for the Den to use that card.

If you paid directly with a credit card, we will need to cancel the payment in Paypal. Then, when your access expires, email us at [email protected] for a link to start paying with the new card.

How do I cancel my Den Membership?

We’ve designed the Den with the idea in mind that you’ll learn and grow, and then one day you’ll be fully booked with great clients and too busy to hang out here anymore.

To end your membership, please fill out this cancellation form.

Please allow up to 72 hours to process your cancellation.

You will continue to have access and to receive Den emails until the time you have paid for expires. Feel free to come back anytime we’re open to members.

How can I upgrade to a Den 2X membership?

Freelance Writers Den 2X Income Accelerator is a 6-month mastermind and 1:1 coaching program where you get hands-on help from our founder, Carol Tice, and a proven Road Map for doubling your income. Den 2X is designed for working freelance writers who earn $20,000+ per year or more. We also sometimes run a ‘follow along’ level for $5,000-$19,000 earners. For more information, student stories, and to be notified when a coaching group is forming, visit Den 2X.

Can I buy a gift membership?

You can. Make the purchase, then email [email protected] with the name and email address of the person you are purchasing the gift membership for. They’ll make the changes necessary for the giftee to log in — but you should probably email the giftee and let them know so they’ll be expecting the login credentials from us.

Den Experience Questions

Why don’t I have access to the Den?

There are a few reasons this might happen.

  1. Did you pay by eCheck? An eCheck is a payment that you make directly from your bank account. Just like a regular check, it usually takes between 3 and 5 business days for an eCheck to clear. You will be allowed access to the Den after your eCheck clears.
  2. Your browser session may have expired and/or you may not be logged in. Try logging out of the site and/or clearing your browser cache and log back in here. (Need help clearing your cache? Check out this tutorial — it covers all of the major web browsers and operating systems.)

Still can’t access the Den? Contact the Help Desk.

How can I access the forum?

  • If you’re experiencing problems accessing the forum, please try logging out of the site and clearing your browser cache. (Need help clearing your cache? Check out this tutorial — it covers all of the major web browsers and operating systems.)

Still can’t get in? Contact the Help Desk.

How will I access the bootcamps?

  1. Log in to Freelance Writers Den.
  2. You will be redirected to the Den Dashboard.
  3. From the Den Dashboard choose your path: forum, bootcamps, and more.

Can I download the videos and audio files?

Yes. You can right-click or control-click the download link to save the file, or you can click on the downlink link to allow the file open in a new window. Steps may vary depending on your browser.

I prefer to read transcripts. Can I get those?

No problem! Our events and bootcamps are all transcribed.

I prefer to listen while I drive or walk. Can I do that?

Yep. Each audio will have a download link. Videos can also be downloaded to watch on your phone or tablet — but please don’t watch while you’re driving.
